Tomb of Gyula Szűk, the Reformed pastor of Uzapanyit-Balogtamás (Balogvölgy)

Cemeteries, tombstones, graves

The Reformed pastor Gyula Szűk was first an assistant pastor in Beretke, then served in Rimasimonyi between 1889-90, and from 1892 in Uzapanyit. ; According to the Sárospatak Reformed Newspapers: the former pastor of Uzapanyit-Balogtamási rested peacefully in the Lord on October 1, 1941, at 11:00 a.m. 3/4. His cradle rocked in Mád in Hegyalja and after 84 years of life, his remains rest in the acacia-leaved cemetery in Uzapanyit. What fell between the two: the cradle and the coffin, testifies to the infinitely generous grace of the Lord, who blessed him with 46 years of pastoral work in his dual congregation here: in Uzapanyit and in Balogtamási. ; From June 26, 1892 to July 1, 1938, he shepherded the Lord's flock here, proving during his ministry that he was always faithful to the "few", living with the members of his church in great and constant peace, in family, intimate love. ; He was not a showy pastor, a believer in humility, simplicity, naturalness, conscientious preparation in his preaching, youthful presentation, exemplary order and precision in his pastoral office, a living piece of the calm, nervous, and hasty "peaceful world". His appearance attracted attention, his mood and cheerfulness created an atmosphere. ; His pastor's apartment had an open door for guests and congregation members, he was a homemaker without any artifice, a father who raised his three sons at the cost of sacrifices and the meager bread at home, who always remembered his sons with a proud heart, who were also the bright rays of his twilight days. ; He had a parish built, schools rebuilt, bells brought, etc., he also tried to put his churches on a solid foundation financially. In Gömör, the Uzapanyit congregation bears the name of the good "people" and can thank his former pastor for this for forty-six years. ; After his retirement on July 1, 1938, he enjoyed a well-deserved rest in vibrant health for about a year and a half, but in the last year and a half of his life, he became increasingly weak and exhausted, experiencing severe physical pain, bearing great physical suffering with humble patience, and finally, on October 1, 1941, he died as the ripe fruit of the Lord. ; The first part of his funeral took place in Rimaszombat on October 3, where he spent the last three years of his life and where his good heart beat its last. Here at the funeral home, Imre Varga, pastor of Rimaszombat, and István Szűcs, religious education pastor, preached the comforting words of the Lord. The second part of the funeral took place in the church in Uzapanyiti, where local pastor József Németh preached the never-ending words at the head of the large congregation of local and neighboring church members. ; ; At the grave, on behalf of and on behalf of the Reformed Diocese of Gömör, pastor Károly Urbán of Bátka said goodbye to his paternal comrade. Mourners included: his sons: dr. Szilárd Szűk, rector of the Royal Hungarian Army, dr. Lehel Szűk, rector of the Royal Hungarian Army, dr. Levente Szűk, rector of the Royal Hungarian Army, his daughters-in-law, grandchildren and brother, as well as the congregation in Uzapanyit-Balogtamási.
