After the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy and the establishment of Czechoslovakia, a denominational school operated in the village. Among the outstanding teachers of the era was János Szoleczky, who actively participated in the cooperative life of the village, in the work of the local volunteer fire department, and in his free time organized amateur theater performances.
