Cinema Museum
The HUNGARIAN REGIONAL THEATRE was founded on October 1, 1952. In 2022, we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of our theatre. The opening of this museum is connected to this significant milestone. Our first generation of actors, who joined the theatre between 1952 and 1960 and worked here for a long time until their retirement, have finally been given a worthy memorial. Several of them were born in Komárom (hereinafter referred to as the "Komárom" or "Komárom") .
The founding members: the first director, ISTVÁN FELLEGI.
Theatrical artists: ZSUZSA BOTTKA, BÉLA BUGÁR, ANNA FERENCY, MIHÁLY GYURKOVICS, FERENC HÚSVÁR, MÁRIA H. BUDAI, DEZSŐ KIRÁLY (Komárom), JÓZSEF KONRÁD, MAGDA LELKES, MARGIT LŐRINCZ (Komárom), JENŐ SIPOSS, ZSIGMOND TURNER, ANNA UDVARDI.
Here we can pay our respect and appreciation to them. They were true pioneers who spread Hungarian theatrical culture from Bratislava to Ágcsérny in the most difficult times. Their only reward was the love and applause of the audience.
The actors who joined in the first season of 1952/53 were: IMRE FAZEKAS, FERENC KORAI (retired), LÁSZLÓ RISZDORFER (retired), JÁNOS TARICS (retired), LÁSZLÓ TÓTH.
In 1959 (in chronological order), they joined: JÓZSEF KOVÁCS, ERNŐ SIPOSS, JÓZSEF ROZSÁR (retired), ANTAL WIEDER, MÁTYÁS DRÁFI, ICA NÉMETH.
In 1959, after the Hungarian branch of the State Village Theatre was dissolved, the following actors transferred to our theatre: GÁSPÁR BUGÁR, ILONA LENGYELNÉ GOMBOS, FERENC LENGYEL, GABI PALOTÁS, SZABÓ RÓZSI, ARANKA SZENTPTÉTERY, BÉLA VÁRADY.
In 1969, the Thália Stage was established as a department of the HUNGARIAN REGIONAL THEATRE. The founding members of this unit, under the leadership of Sándor Beke, were also actors of the HUNGARIAN REGIONAL THEATRE: MIHÁLY GYURKOVICS, JÓZSEF KOVÁCS, ILONA L. GOMBOS, FERENC LENGYEL, RÓZSI SZABÓ, BÉLA VÁRADY.
On June 1, the HUNGARIAN REGIONAL THEATRE – at the suggestion of director Sándor Beke – took the name Jókai Theatre in Komárno. At the same time, the Thália Stage became independent and its name was changed to Thália Theatre in Kassai.
