Synagogue of Spišská Václava
Building, structure
Spiš Castle is located next to the ruins of the majestic Spiš Castle. UNESCO has declared it, together with the castle, a World Heritage Site. The synagogue, built in 1905, is located on Stefánik Street, a simple, pale-coloured building. After a long renovation, it has been home to a Jewish museum since September 2007. The original decoration has been preserved in most of its interior, including the women's gallery and some parts of the walls and ceiling, and the structure of the Torah cabinet has also survived the times.
