Béla Szentkúthy Kiss (1847–1902), the 15th pastor of Madar (from January 21, 1874 to May 14, 1902) for 28 years. He donated his portrait, made in pencil, to the parish before his death. His sermons, minutes, and the keeping of the church chronicle reveal a trained theologian. As a result of the fire that destroyed everything in 1886, the Reformed congregation found itself in a serious financial situation, as it had to rebuild everything. Around this time, the Madar Reformed Church began to go into debt. The congregation turned against its pastor, accusing him of the impure management of church public property.
