Statue of Saint Wendel in Ógyalla
Sacral small monument
The roadside statue of Saint Wendel, revered as the protector of shepherds, was erected in 1938 on the corner of Kertek alja Street and Hársfa Street. The figure is depicted in shepherd's clothing, with hands clasped in prayer, a hat on his head, a cloak on his shoulders, a kanász horn and a bag, a long-handled shepherd's hook in his hand, and a calf at his feet. The object probably cost seven thousand Czechoslovak crowns (one thousand crowns were donated by the faithful, five hundred crowns by the priest, and the rest by Pál Zahorec).
