There are many public statues of the saint Vendel, who lived in the early Middle Ages and came from the British Isles and was very popular in Hungary in the 18th century (similar to St. John of Nepomuk or St. Florian), in Catholic regions all over the country. Based on its stylistic features, the statue of St. Vendel in Nana could also have been made in the Baroque period. Perhaps the date of its erection is linked to the chapel titled St. Vendel, built around 1755 on the neighboring plot. (The date 1906 on the columnar statue base decorated with cornices may only be the date of its renovation or relocation.) ; The slightly smaller-than-life statue, carved from limestone, depicts Saint Wendel in a standing position, contrapposto, according to traditional iconography, wearing shepherd's clothing, a cloak, a wide-brimmed metal hat, and a hooked-ended shepherd's staff in his hand. His left foot, wearing high-strapped sandals, steps on an open crown.
