Statue of Saint Urban
Sacral small monument
There was and is a great tradition of viticulture in Lukanénye. It is not known whether the patron saint of winegrowers, Saint Urban, had a cult or a statue. However, the present-day venerable one is lively and lively: in 2007, the statue of Saint Urban was erected on Botrány Hill, near the wine cellars. The statue was made by the folk artist and woodcarver Jozef Fojtík. The wooden statue stands on a high pedestal, under a small roof placed on pillars. The saint stands before us in high priestly robes, with a bishop's hat on his head, a bunch of grapes in his right hand, and a Gospel book in his left. At his feet is also a bunch of grapes, and this Slovak inscription: Sv. Urban. The custodian of the Orbán cult here is the Lubovín Civic Association, which organizes the Orbán Day celebration and the open-air mass every year.
