St. Ladislaus Church

Building, structure

The Church of St. Ladislaus in Bratislava is located in the Old Town district of Bratislava on Ispotály (Hospital) Street. The church is part of the four-winged hospital next to it, which was built between 1830 and 1832 in the classicist style according to the plans of Ignác Feigler the Elder. The painting on the main altar of the church depicts the apotheosis of St. Ladislaus. The painting was made by Ferdinand Lütgendorf in 1830. In 1891, Ferenc Storno the Younger had the church restored, he also made the stained glass windows of the church. In 1927, the originally white walls were decorated with various decorative motifs, which slightly changed the original classicist image of the church. At the suggestion of Ferenc Storno, the Holy Trinity is depicted above the main altar of the church.
