Building, structure
Seven kilometers from Verebély in the direction of Léva, in the neighborhood of Mohi, is the village of Csiffár. ; A written document from 1209 mentions the village, and its parish existed as early as 1332-37. It first belonged to the Garamszentbenedek Abbey, from 1512 to the Buda provostship, from 1534 to the Eger bishopric, and then from 1536 to the Esztergom archdiocese. ; The Church of St. John of Csiffár was built in 1774 in the classicist style on the site of an earlier demolished medieval church. It was renovated in 1883 and in the first half of the 20th century. ; The church is located next to the main road, at the fork leading to Mohi. It is worth stopping for a few moments to look around, because with its sacral style, we can admire the outstandingly beautiful church of the area.
