Saint Stephen statue

The statue was intended to be erected in honor of the Millennium Year, the 1000th anniversary of the founding of the country, but it was only a year later, due to an organizational error, that the permit was obtained. The work related to the statue began in February 2001. The "statue committee" that was formed was responsible for organizing the design of the memorial site and the erection of the statue. The statue, which was completed with the effective financial support of the Rákóczi Association and public donations, was inaugurated on August 19, 2001, in the framework of an ecumenical service. ; The celebrations on August 20 are related to the statue, the organization of which is undertaken every year by the Nagykapos branch of the Csemadok.
