Equestrian Statue of Saint Stephen
Inauguration: The statue was inaugurated on August 21, 2009, after several years of preparation and fundraising.
Creator: It was created by sculptor Lajos Győrfi.
Material: The monumental work is made of bronze and stands on a huge limestone base.
Significance: The statue is a symbol of the unity of the local Hungarians, as it was made from public donations. It depicts Saint Stephen, the founding king of the state, in a dignified posture, sitting on a horse, holding the orb of state in his hand.
