St. Stephen's Church in Beckó
Building, structure
Beckó church was dedicated to King St. Stephen before 1300. It is a single-nave, Gothic stone building, remodeled in the 18th century, with a western tower. In its three-sided sanctuary, in the left corner of the apse, there is a 15th-century, 5 m high sanctuary, an iron-lattice niche on an octagonal column, with a ceiling ending in a philharmonic hall. The nave has four pairs of barrel vaults resting on corners. On the right side altar, there is a 15th-century, wooden Madonna statue, 100 cm high. A chapel is attached to the southern wall of the nave with a pointed arch opening.
