Bronze statue of King Saint Stephen
Statue, monument, memorial plaque
The patron saint of Ipolyny, King St. Stephen, was depicted not only on the main altar of the church, but also outside it. The fact that the cult of our holy king is still alive here today is also evident in the recently erected statue. The bronze statue of St. Stephen stands in the middle of a beautifully designed park, on a high stone pedestal in the square below the church. The full-length statue depicts the king girded with a sword, with a crown on his head, arms, and shoulders, with a royal mantle. He holds a scepter in his raised right hand, and an orb in his left. ; The statue was erected in the central part of the recreation park created near the Church of St. Stephen. Until 2006, the statue of St. John of Nepomuk stood in this place, which was then moved next to the church.
