The noble mansion of Viceroy Pál Szent-Imrey

Building, structure

The most important monument of Buzita was the castle, the foundations of which probably date back to the Middle Ages, and it was certainly already standing in the 16th century. The first direct mention of the building dates back to 1599. In the mid-18th century, the manor house was rebuilt in the Baroque style, and in the early 19th century in the Classicist style. The castle was owned by the family until 1945, its last owner being Pál Szent-Imrey, the vice-governor of Abaúj-Torna county. After 1945, the building became the property of the State Economy, which used it as offices and a warehouse. After 1977, the castle was demolished. Today, the amphitheater stands in its place.
