St. George's Church
Building, structure
The oldest monument here is the old St. George's Church built on the hill next to the village. It is indirectly mentioned in 1291, when Martinus the priest (prebister) worked here. So, a church built in the Romanesque style stood here before 1291. It was a single-nave building, with a straight-sided narrower sanctuary. It was probably rebuilt in the Gothic style and surrounded by a protective wall. The church was already ruined and abandoned in the 17th century, just like the village, but after the settlement of Inám in 1697, repairs were made to it and it was rebuilt in the Renaissance style. In 1895, the then unusable church was rebuilt, completely changing its original appearance. However, after a while, the believers believed that despite the transformation, it did not meet the requirements, so in 1931, the new Roman Catholic St. George Church was built partly on the site of the old church, but in a different direction, and then the old one was completely demolished. Today's church is a spacious single-nave building in the neo-Romanesque style. According to the schematism of the Diocese of Nagyszombat, the consecration took place in 1932. ; The interior vaults display frescoes made in 1953, painted by Ján Hock from Selmecbánya and restored by Pál Milkovics in 2000. ; The remains of the Renaissance stone baptismal font from the 16th century are valuable. The Lourdes Grotto with the statue of the Virgin Mary of Lourdes and the kneeling Bernadette was built in 2000.
