* September 22, 1945, Jánok / ethnographer, teacher ; ; Born on September 22, 1945 in Jánok, Eastern Slovakia. He graduated from high school in Szepsi in 1962, and graduated from the Pedagogical College in Nitra in 1965 with a degree in mathematics and physics. He began teaching in Nagytárkány (1965–1969), later graduating in ethnography at ELTE in Budapest (1969–1973). He was then an ethnographer at the Mining Museum in Rožňov (1973–1975), then at the Museum of National History in Galanta (1975–1989). As a museologist, he created significant exhibitions, for which he won the Slovak Ethnographic Society's award in 1985. ; During his years as a museologist, he led an ethnographic specialist group in Rozsnyó and Galánta next to the Pioneer Houses at that time. As a result of his professional activity, the students of the gymnasiums (Slovak and Hungarian) of Galánta successfully participated in the scientific conferences of secondary school students (SOČ), where they presented works processing the lifestyle, material and object culture of the Hungarians, and the migration of the northern Slovak population to Matthias Land. ; He returned to the department in 1989. From 1989, he taught mathematics and physics at the Kodály Z. Elementary School in Nagymácséd for ten years, then in Hidaskürt, and finally in Galánta until his retirement (2005). His students successfully participated in the district and regional mathematics olympiads and other mathematics competitions. ; In the first half of the 1990s, he led an ethnographic specialist group at the Kodály Zoltán Gymnasium in Galánta. His experts achieved great success in the competition of the Hungarian Ethnographic Society, and their works were published in print in the publication of the Hungarian Ethnographic Society of Slovakia, in the booklet Utánpótlás. ; He has been an active member of the Slovak Hungarian Teachers' Association (SZMPSZ) since its establishment. For years, he was a national committee member, the vice president of Galántai TV, and the RPK. ; From the beginning, he has been advocating for the training of teachers in teaching local history, and to this end, he has led credit-point courses, organized professional days, and specialist camps. A new element in his working method is that in the summer specialist camps, teachers and their students carry out research work together and learn the methods of field collection and processing together. ; He considered talent development important during his museological and pedagogical career. Vice-president of the Talent Support Council operating alongside the SZMPSZ, and later its successor, the Mentor TT. ; Since 2006 (since her retirement), she has been the coordinator and professional manager of the SZMPSZ program called Treasure Hunters – students researching regional values. The students present their local history research in a 10-minute projected image presentation at the national conference of the Treasure Hunters, for which more than 600 student presentations have been registered for the 14th edition so far, from Csallóköz to Bodrogköz. ; In recognition of her pedagogical and ethnographic/local history work, she has received several awards, which mainly recognized the useful activities of the Treasure Hunters – students researching local values. ; ; ; ;  , ; ; ; ; The life of Mária Szanyi on video: ; ; https://youtu.be/7YKC5NDhrJI
