Sándor Szabó gave his life for his Hungarian homeland in 1914 after being seriously wounded on the Galician battlefield.

Waiting for the resurrection / here sleeps his eternal sleep / my beloved good husband who / died a heroic death for the country. / Sándor Szabó / who on September 2, 1914 / in the great battle between Krasznik and Lublin / hit by an enemy bullet / after long and painful suffering / on October 11, 1914 in the Vienna military / hospital in the 34th year of his life / and the 10th year of his happy marriage, / died a glorious death. / May peace rest upon his heroic ashes!
