The cemetery in Rozsnyó contains the graves of many national guardsmen from 1848/49. Sámuel Sthymmel also participated in the War of Independence as a national guard. ; "The last person to sit in the always respected chair of chief judge of the well-organized mining town of Rozsnyó was József Bölcsházy. He was replaced by the city's first mayor, Sámuel Sthymmel, who led the city's affairs with great energy and knowledge from 1872 to 1889."
