* Csúz, October 11, 1834 – † Nyitrakoros, September 15, 1915 / beekeeper, beekeeping specialist ; ; He graduated from high school in Nagyszombat and studied theology in Esztergom for a while, but did not finish it and from 1858 he was the economic administrator of János Scitovszky (1785–1866), the archbishop and cardinal of Esztergom. After 16 years of service, he retired and settled in Inám, Hont County, in 1874. Here he founded a brick apiary, which soon gained national fame. He was one of the founders and vice-presidents of the Hungarian National Beekeeping Association. He not only dealt with practical issues, but also served the cause of beekeeping as a specialist writer. His two-volume work, The Bee and Its World I-II – which consists of more than 2000 pages – is still a frequently used work today. The first volume was published in 1895 in Kolozsvár, the second volume in 1908 in Budapest. He also published numerous articles on beekeeping, and was a senior contributor to the professional journal Méhészet. He also developed a new type of honey-making process, one of the elements of which was a specially designed small honey frame. Towards the end of his life, he went blind and retired to the estate of his supporter, Baron Förster, in Nyitrakoros. The beekeeping tradition he created is still being cultivated in Inám, a Sötér memorial plaque was unveiled on the wall of the village hall on September 1, 2000, and since then a honey festival has been held in the village every year.
