Evangelical Church of Bánya Selmec
Building, structure
Opposite the St. Catherine's Church stands the girls' school of the Sisters of Mercy named after St. Vincent, and next to it is the Lutheran church. Previously, the Lutherans — expelled from the former Catholic church — had only a wooden church. Based on the toleration decree of Joseph II, they were only allowed to build a church made of stone. The building was built in 1794-96 in the Copf style based on the plans of the Viennese architect J. S. THALHER. The floor plan of the interior of the church is elliptical. Inside, there are galleries next to the side walls. Its altar is in the Baroque style. Its altarpiece is the work of Mór Than.
