Grave of the manor employees János Schvarczer and Jenő Schvarczer

Cemeteries, tombstones, grave sites

According to the epitaph, the members of the Schvarczer family served the Zichy estate of Vedrőd for generations. Jenő Schvarczer even published an article about the estate titled "Description of the Vedrőd estate's farm in Vedrőd", which was printed in Nagyszombat in 1909 by Zsigmond Winter's book printing house. The diverse activities of the estate inspectors are also well indicated by the following letter, which was published in the public and agricultural newspaper Köztelek on March 21, 1900: ; ; "His Excellency Count József Zichy VEDRŐDI MANOR Post and Telegraph Railway Station Vedrőd Diószeg and Cziffer. Vedrőd, March 16, 1900. ; ; To Mr. T. SOMMER MÓR Budapest. ; ; I have the honor to inform you that the cattle shearing machine "Barton Gillette et Co. London" delivered to us in December of last year worked to my complete satisfaction and sheared 500 cattle of various ages and sexes without any problems and without the slightest wear and tear on the machine. The blunt blades were quickly replaced by you with new or sharpened blades for a small grinding fee. The effect of shearing on the cattle is very good, cleaning is much easier, and especially the shearing fattening oxen and young cattle, as well as cows with longer hair, proved to be very beneficial. Consequently, I cannot fail to express my greatest appreciation for the excellent construction and durability of the shearing machine, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. If we still manage to sell the cattle hair, the price of the machine will be repaid in a few years. ; ; With best regards, JENŐ SCHWARCZER, clerk." ; ; In 1928, the year of Jenő Schvarczer's death, we can read the following in the Budapest Gazette, presumably about his son and his family: "The Minister of the Interior, Jenő Károly Ágoston Schwarczer, who was born in the village of Vedrőd in 1876, Roman Catholic, married, resident of Budapest, and general of the Hungarian Army, at his request, changed his own family name and that of his children, Jenő Ottó and Miklós, to "Somorjay" by resolution No. 254.292/VIII of 1928."
