Carl-Gusztáv Merényi Scholtz (1836–1919) was a Hungarian royal technical advisor (son of András Scholtz, owner of the Merényi mine and ironworks, and Anna Ludovika Páter). On October 6, 1905, he was ennobled by Emperor Franz Joseph using the first name Merényi. ; Crest: a split shield with a golden crest, in the crest a stylized blue lily between two stars, in the right blue field a lion facing left, perched on a crown of three green hills, holds in its forelegs an engineering signboard with red and white crosses on a brown bar, a rocky mine hill rises from the bottom of the left red field, with an open mine entrance, the mine hill is covered with a golden crown, on which rests the mining emblem: a black-handled mining hammer and a black-handled silver mining pickaxe, helmet decoration: a brazen arm holding a curved sword, covers: blue-silver, red-gold. ; ; Descent: ; ; Gusztáv (* 1836.
