The current volume of the International Vámbéry Conference in Dunaszerdahely is part of the tradition, and on the other hand, it is a debt settlement. It is part of the tradition, because successive conferences, with one exception, are always introduced by presenting the volume containing the proceedings of the previous conference. Debt settlement, because this is the only exception, when the current volume could not be published, resulting in a deficit that lasted for years, which we are trying to remedy with this volume.
