Rétei Reformed Church
Building, structure
The church was built between 1769 and 1771, with a facade facing the street, but without a tower and street entrance. The Hussite prayer house that had been used as a church until then was converted into a parsonage. The new house of worship was consecrated by András Várady, the pastor of the church at the time. ; The slender, 17-foot (32.3-meter) tower of the church was built in 1861-62. ; According to the 1912 dean's report, the church underwent a radical interior renovation: an ornate organ, new benches, and a grounding were installed. In 1914, the two bells in the tower were seized for war purposes. New bells were cast in 1925 with public donations. ; The congregation began the exterior and interior renovation of its church in June 2012. The schedule for the first phase of the work included the complete undercutting and insulation of the church building, the replacement of the old iron windows with wooden windows of a similar arrangement, and the repair of the benches and the floor. ; The parish's plans include the restoration of the external and internal plaster of the church, the repair of the roof, and painting. After the work on the building, the more than 100-year-old organ is also awaiting a complete renovation. ; The list of pastors who have served in the congregation includes 37 names from 1681 to the present day. The current leader is Beáta Bohony, pastor of Réte-Boldogfa.
