Reformed Church in Örös
Building, structure
The earliest records of the Örös church date back to 1700, and based on these, a wooden church stood here at that time. This church was later destroyed, and the construction of the predecessor of today's stone church dates back to the beginning of the 19th century (its foundation stone was laid on May 16, 1806, and it was completed by 1830). Unfortunately, the parish and the archive fell victim to an earlier (1806) fire, and the church to a later (1841) fire. A more serious reconstruction took place in 1877, when it received a larger tower, and the roof was also renewed in 1894. The church, which bears classicist architectural features, received its current appearance during the renovation in 1935, and has served as the place of worship for the congregation ever since.
