Reformed Church in Nagybalog (Balogvölgy)
Building, structure
In 1699, the “eternal memory” Gergely Szikszai was the spiritual caretaker of the village, under whose office the collection for the construction of the new church began. The faithful traveled to distant regions with officially authorized begging letters so that the House of the Lord could be rebuilt from the collected money. The new church was built on the old foundations in 1740, and in 1780 the western part was expanded with the tower. The church is surrounded by a fortified wall. This stone fence was probably built after the Tatar invasion and was renovated in the 2000s. The church has three entrances, which is very rare for churches. A listed building.
