It is located 14 km southwest of Barsvárad Léva, on the right bank of the Garam River. According to the 2011 census, out of 335 inhabitants, 142 (42.2%) are Hungarians and 120 are Calvinists. The village was established in 1944 with the unification of Alsó- and Felsővárad. During the population exchange following World War II, 60% of the population had to leave their homeland, 95% of the displaced were Calvinists. The parish also includes Tőre, which is 2 km away, and according to Sz. Károly Kiss (1878), even the branch churches of Endréd and Derezslény, which have now ceased to exist. The preachers of the “United Mother Church of Alsó- and Felsővárad and Tőre” have been leading it since 1655. It has not had a resident pastor for 60 years. Its first church was built in 1780, rebuilt in 1889, and then blown up by German troops in February 1945. The congregation had no church for more than 50 years. They built their new church in three years, which was dedicated on September 5, 1999. Three gilded columns from the old church were incorporated into the new one, which seats 150. The language of worship is Hungarian. The congregation has begun construction of a parish church, and the completed church hall is used for Bible classes and children's activities.
