Holy Trinity Church in Radosna
Building, structure
The Catholic church of Radosna was built in Renaissance style between 1636 and 1644 by János Telegdy, Bishop of Nyitra, and its tower was built in 1663 by György Szelepcsényi, Bishop of Nyitra, later Archbishop of Kalocsa. There is a stone-framed coat of arms above the main entrance. It was rebuilt in Baroque style in 1755. In 1950, the tower was damaged by lightning. It was repaired in the same year, and it became about 3 m higher (37.5 meters), making it one of the highest towered churches in the district. It is a single-nave building, vaulted Renaissance, with a barrel vault. Its dominant element is the Baroque main altar in the inner space from the early 18th century. Its classicist chalice-shaped marble baptismal font dates from the early 19th century. ; ; At the entrance is the Chapel of the Holy Cross, built in 1636, originally in the Renaissance and then rebuilt in the Baroque style. In front of the church are two monuments: the Baroque statue of St. John of Nepomuk built in 1770, and the Classicist-style statue of the Holy Trinity from 1856. On the left side of the church is the Lourdes Grotto (consecrated on May 22, 1949), which was built by young people with the money they earned from their theatrical activities.
