During the formation of Czechoslovakia, the priestly duties in the village were performed by the priest József Psenko. He was born on March 7, 1858 in Újvár, and completed his theological studies in Esztergom, where he was ordained a priest on June 29, 1881. He worked as an assistant pastor in Szent Mihályfa and Hidaskürtö, later in Kajal, and from October 1, 1909 as a parish priest in Zsigárd. According to official reports, he was not liked by his followers. ; He died on July 14, 1930, and was laid to rest in the local cemetery.
