The inscription on Pristyák Neit's white marble tombstone was worn, its wrought iron fence was rusted, and the grave itself was overgrown with bramble bushes. The magazine Esztergom reported on his death in August 1897 as follows: "Pristyák Neit, honorary canon of Esztergom and dean-parish priest of Verebély, died in the 59th year of his life after long suffering and devout reception of the sacraments of the dying. He played a significant role in the public life of the prosperous Bars county. His faithful, whom he cared for for 30 years, lost their best father in him, and the diocese lost one of its most exemplary and zealous priests. We have received the following obituary of his death: ; Antal Pristyák, on behalf of his own and his extended family, reports with a broken heart that his brother, the great and most venerable Mr. Pristyák Neit, canon of the archdiocese of Esztergom, dean-parish priest of Verebély, member of the Barsvár county legislative committee, passed away on the afternoon of the 8th of February at 1/2 At 3 o'clock, in the 59th year of his life and the 32nd year of his priestly ministry, after long suffering, he fell asleep in a better life after receiving the sacraments of the dead. The remains of the deceased will be laid to rest in the local Catholic cemetery on Friday, the 10th of the month, at 10 o'clock, and the Holy Mass of Reconciliation will be offered to the Almighty on the same day.
