Aladár Polnisch (May 1, 1862, Levoča - September 15, 1932, Felsőhági, grave in Levoča), hotelier. ; He moved to Felsőhági from Levoča around 1890. In Felsőhági he ran a small 70-room, year-round sanatorium for nearly 40 years. During this time, Felsőhági had mainly German guests, and Polnisch became very popular under the name Onkel Polnisch. Until World War I, he was one of the three best hoteliers in the Tatra Mountains: János György Rainer in Ótatrafüred, Dávid Husz in Poprad, and Aladár Polnisch in Felsőhági. ; At the suggestion of Polnisch, Prince Christian of Hohenlohe, the then owner of Felsőhági and the Menguszfalvi Valley, had a new shelter built (the fourth in order) at Lake Poprad. Polnisch ran this shelter until 1921. He kept it open in winter and summer. ; His son, Aladár Polnisch Jr., established the local station of the mountain rescue service in Felsőhági in the 1920s. ; The cemetery's once most beautiful tombstone is now worn out, but the sedge growing on the grave is still mowed.
