The grave of Mihály Podlupszky
Cemeteries, tombstones, graves
He was born in Garamkövesd. He graduated from the Szent Imre High School in Esztergom in 1943. He was known as a versatile, talented, open-minded person who, among other things, loved and knew how to take photographs. He was the 'photographer' in the village, who had a camera and understood the craft. If invited, he gladly went to photograph family events, holidays, anniversaries. But he also photographed events in his environment for himself, he was interested in the people he lived among and the era in which he lived. Using his talent, he took advantage of the opportunity to create a rare intimate, diverse photographic material about nearly a decade of the life of a relatively closed community. They were mostly taken in the 1950s in the Upper Highlands, in a few villages near the lower reaches of the Garam, in the villages of Kicsind, Garamkövesd, Bajta, Helemba. Weddings, baptisms, church and communist holidays, name days, first communions, Christmas, ID photos, name days, agricultural work, miners, road construction, beekeepers' meetings and cooperative meetings, etc. topics.
