In the courtyard of the village hall is a bust of the Hungarian poet Sándor Petőfi, which was unveiled on March 14, 1998. The statue of the poet was made by the Hungarian sculptor István Szabó, who won the Munkácsy Prize. The statue was donated to the village by Ferenc Benkő and his wife, Mária Pető, citizens of Neszmély.
