His parents erected a memorial for their son, who disappeared on the Russian battlefield in World War I, in 1916, at the age of 21.

Here we preserve / the loving memory of / GÉZÁ PETŐ / who disappeared in the prime of his life / at the age of 21 / in the World War in 1916 / on the Russian battlefield. / The joy of our hearts has ceased, / Instead of joy, it is filled with sorrow. / And therefore our hearts are sad. / Because our only / hope has ceased. // His father / GYULA PETŐ / lived 70 years, died on Nov. 2, 1942. / His faithful wife / ESZTER MOLNÁR / Blessings on their ashes!
