The grave of the Reformed pastor Dániel Pethő
Cemeteries, headstones, tombs
In the early 1870s, the Reformed congregation in Nemesradnót decided to build a new church to replace the damaged wooden church. The work began in 1875. This fell during the ministry of Dániel Pethő. The elderly pastor died in the meantime and is buried in the local cemetery. ; Dániel Pethő (the "cheese-slicked priest") was born in 1823 in Petőszinye, Zemplén County. He was a pastor in Nemesradnót for 36 years. He died on October 26, 1890. He was buried in the local cemetery by Antal Varga, pastor of Bátka, and László Vattay, pastor of Rimaszéc. His tombstone was destroyed over time, and its condition was not worthy of his memory. Members of the Reformed congregation and local entrepreneurs renovated the tombstone on October 1, 2016, in honor of the 140th anniversary of the construction of the church. ; On the occasion of the anniversary, more than thirty people gathered for the thanksgiving service and the rededication of the tombstone, which was a great joy for the leaders of the dwindling congregation. The service was conducted by the serving pastor, Nt. Agócsné Tímea Galgóczy, who also said a blessing for the congregation and the work done at the cemetery. Dénes Pósa, the caretaker of the local Reformed congregation, thanked them for the support and pointed out that the construction is still ongoing. "It's not as spectacular now as when a church is being built. However, we have no reason to be discouraged, as we have the strength to renovate our church, tidy up the graves, and strengthen our community," he said. ; ; In 2017, the Nemesradnót Reformed Church Parish marked the grave renovated in 2016 with a nameplate.
