He was born as the third of five children of Lenke Farkas and Ernő Patkoló. ; He was born into a Hungarian musical gypsy family, so he could not escape his fate either. At first, he played the violin in his father's orchestra at weddings and other gatherings in Vága, and then, thanks to his musical talent, all over the world. ; He began his school studies in his native village, at the Hungarian-language elementary school, which operated under the name "Vága Eight-Year Secondary School" from the 1953/54 school year. ; He continued his studies at the Žilina Conservatory, where his teacher was Bohumil Urban. After that, he was a student at the Janáček Academy of Music (Janáčkova akademie múzických umění, JAMU) in the Moravian city of Brno, where his class teacher was Antonín Moravec. After graduating from "JAMU", he became the concertmaster of the newly founded Žilina State Symphony Orchestra (Štátny komorný orchester Žilina) on August 1, 1974. As a concertmaster and soloist, he performed with the Žilina State Symphony Orchestra all over Europe, and had successful performances in Japan, the United States of America, and Brazil. ; From 1979, he worked abroad as a music teacher and musician - in Kuwait, Iraq, and Turkey for eight years as concertmaster of the Istanbul State Opera. ; In 1994, he returned to Slovakia and from the 1994/95 season until the end of 2009, he was the second violin concertmaster of the Žilina State Symphony Orchestra. ; In 1997, he performed in Belgium with the world premiere of the Belgian composer Jef Maes's Meditation for Violin and Orchestra as a member of the Žilina State Symphony Orchestra. ; In September 2003, as a soloist of the Žilina State Symphony Orchestra, he performed Ilja Zeljenka's Musica Slovaca at the Royal Opera in Brussels. ; As a violin soloist, he was a member of several symphony orchestras: Klavírne trio ŠKO Žilina, Archi di Slovakia. He also worked as a violin instructor at the Žilina Conservatory.
