The cross of the Pálházi Puszta
Sacral small monument
The cross of the Pálházi-puszta “It is like the one at the parish on Calvary. The father of the old priest Urbán made this too.” – said my informant. (Mrs. Pálné Juhász) However, everything is exactly the same, because only the actual cross resembles the one mentioned, and it was probably renovated by the father of the parish priest. The crucifix stands on the ornate head of a three-step foundation column. The foundation and the column are made of stone. In the semicircular recess of the latter, a black marble plaque reads: “IHS / WE PRAISE / To Jesus Christ / Forever / Amen / I built / For God / For His Glory / Márton Gyapjas / In the year 1935”. On the head of the column, which tapers upwards, stands a wooden cross with a straight stem end and the inscription INRI, which is protected by a decorated zinc cover with a cross shape on the stems. On the cross is a grayish-white iron body with a blue loincloth. Christ's head is turned slightly to the right and towards the sky. The feet are on top of each other.
