Árpád Ozsvald Memorial Room
Building, structure
The parental home in Nemesoroszi no longer stands, yet his life's work and the radiant power of his personality, as well as the love of his contemporaries and admirers, were the catalysts for the uplifting ceremony held on April 2, 2008, during which a memorial room was inaugurated in memory of Árpád Ozsvald. ; Mayor Pavol Páchnik greeted the gathering and said that Árpád Taliga, a retired teacher from Zselíz, was the dreamer of this memorial room. Of course, the local government immediately supported the initiative, and the cause was supported by the Hungarian Writers' Association of Slovakia (SZMÍT), the Homeland Fund and the National Council of Csemadok. The writer's daughter, Zsuzsa Ozsvald, as well as, among others, the Reverend Mrs. Magdaléna Polák, painter László Szűcs and public writer Gábor Ábel took an active part in the implementation. ; ; The memorial plaque, which was placed in the memorial room, was made by stonemason Milan Greguš. “I guard the pure dream of the wild waters!” – this characteristic line of Oswald’s poem was inscribed on the plaque. The gathered audience could listen to the poet’s characteristic, emblematic poems performed by Ákos Szabó, a student of the Zselízi Comenius Gymnasium, and by the Kor-Zár and Borostyán ensembles on a recording: The Smallest Boy, Make Your Way, and Near the Earth.
