János Ferenc Keresztelő Ordódy Kálmán of Lower Lieszkó and Rozsony-Miticz (Bagota, January 10, 1815 – Buda, Várnegyed, December 14, 1871) was an imperial and royal lieutenant general, departmental councilor of the Ministry of National Defense. He was born in Bagota in 1815 to Bálint Ordódy and Anna Bacskády. His wife was Jolán Práznovszky. He served as a captain in the army from June 13, 1848, was appointed major on September 27, 1848, and from October was the commander of Trenčín County. Balthazar Simunich defeated his army in the Battle of Kostolna on October 28, 1848. From November 23, 1848, Ordódy was the brigade commander of the Felduna army, and from mid-December, he was the commander of Lipótvár castle. During the siege, he had 1,500 soldiers, 27 cannons and enough food supplies for half a year. He held a short negotiation with the imperialists, after which he unconditionally laid down his arms. At the subsequent court-martial, Ordódy testified that he did not surrender the castle because Mednyánszky and his associates were terrorizing him. For this, László Báró Mednyánszky and Fülöp Gruber were sentenced to death by hanging on April 22, which sentence was carried out on June 5. Kálmán Ordódy was later sentenced to three years in prison. He died as a departmental advisor to the Ministry of National Defense.
