Statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in Nagycetény
Sacral small monument
Next to the village office stands the baroque stone statue of St. John of Nepomuk on the road, which was erected in 1751, renovated in 1905, and repaired again by the villagers in 1972, with the last repair taking place in 1999. St. John of Nepomuk was a symbol of silence, the patron saint of waters, sailors, millers, and bridges. During floods, the water spread to areas close to the statue, so the statue was expected to protect Nagycétény from flooding. There is a wrought-iron fence around the statue.
