Statue of Saint John of Nepomuk

In 2014, A-Híd Zrt. undertook to have a statue of the saint restored every year at its own expense. In 2018, they helped restore a Baroque work of art in Tornalja, located on the banks of the Sajó River, beyond the current borders of the country. ; The statue of the saint was probably erected in 1795 in the Királyi district of the city, and was last restored in 1922. After that, it was in quite poor condition by the 2000s, with parts of the human figure's face and hands missing, and its head was broken off during a crane lift. For a while, a copy replaced the monument, but now the original statue can once again adorn Tornalja after its high-quality restoration. ; The restoration work was carried out by sculptor Zoltán Varga in Gödöllő, and the work of art was symbolically handed over to City Manager Anna Szögedi on Bridge Builders' Day in Budapest on May 12, 2018.
