Statue of Saint John of Nepomuk
Sacral small monument
The statue of St. John of Nepomuk stands on the bank of the stream flowing through the village, in the garden of the new church. The small figure placed on a high pedestal has an upright posture, with his face looking into the distance. The sandstone (18th?) 19th century work is a finely crafted, colored work. The dedication on the tall, rectangular column is no longer legible. The entire pedestal is quite worn, as is the ornate column capital. The saint is seen in a long black cassock, a white collar and a short black shoulder cloak, he has a biretta on his head, and he holds a relatively large crucifix in his right arm. The local informants interviewed no longer know what kind of cult was once attached to the saint or the sacred space.
