Statue of Saint John of Nepomuk

Sacral small monument

An old parish charter states that in her will dated 12 August 1797, Julianna Lipthay also left 50 forints for the maintenance of the statue of St. John of Nepomuk in Szécsénke. The statue was erected next to the main road, near the stream, opposite the castle, where there were no family houses at that time. There is a laced, convex zinc cover above the statue of the patron saint of waters and confessional secrecy. ; ; "the people also used to go here with prosocia on the saint's name day. They came from the church together with their priest, and here they said the St. John litany. The St. John hymn beginning "Praise, honor, you Christians" was also sung. The custom lasted until the end of World War II. (Naszvadiné Rozália Hornyák, 1924)
