According to the literature, Saint John of Nepomuk was the patron saint of sailors, boatmen, bridge toll collectors, and water millers. In the past, several water mills operated in the village of Vághoszú, so a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk could not be missing. On his feast day, a procession marched to the border to the statue standing along the road, which is now located behind a fence, on private land.
