Saint John of Nepomuk (around 1349–March 20, 1393) is the patron saint of Bohemia. He is the patron saint of rivers, bridges, sailors, water millers, and fishermen. He is considered a martyr of the secret of confession. In some places, he is the patron saint of drowning people, miners, and salt miners. The painted statue of the saint in Nádszeg was erected in 1832, according to the text on the plaque on the pedestal, with donations from local believers.

In honor of St. John of Nepomuk, this image was erected in 1832 from the donations of the faithful from the parish priest Sándor Janko. The images of St. Florian and St. Vendel from the same period are also found.
