Our Lady of the Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Nemeskajal
Building, structure
The original church, built in the 16th century, was built in the Renaissance style and was remodeled several times during the 18th century. It was expanded in 1756 and 1780, and in the latter year the patron saint of the church changed - instead of St. Andrew, it was dedicated to the Queen of the Holy Reader. The side nave was rebuilt in the 20th century, the last renovation took place between 1992 and 1995. The church has two naves with a Prussian barrel vault, and contains some Baroque monuments: a Pietà statue, a late Baroque stone baptismal font, a painting of the Last Supper from the second half of the 18th century, as well as a pseudo-classicist organ from the end of the 19th century and a relief of the Virgin Mary.
