The new central cross of the Great Cemetery
Sacral small monument
The rectangular column of the central cross of the Great Cemetery (new part) stands on a three-step concrete base, with this dedication on a black marble tablet: "Give, O Lord, eternal rest / to the faithful departed / and may eternal light / shine upon them / 1967". Above the dedication, a gilded cross carved in marble can be seen. The widening capital tapers upwards, ending in a square step. On this stands the INRI-inscription, straight-stemmed, body-shaped artificial stone cross. The body is cast iron, painted white. The loincloth is blue. Christ's head is turned downwards and to the right, his hands are held vertically, his feet are next to each other. János Varga and his wife, who are buried behind him, had it erected.
