Postcard from Nagymegyer, 1940

According to the 1st Vienna Decision of 2 November 1938, Csallóköz and thus Nagymegyer were annexed to Hungary again. The Hungarian state authorities made a very precise overview of the annexed territories. Based on this, we know that in 1939 Nagymegyer had 4644 inhabitants. The number of houses in the city was 857, the number of families was 1152. The postcard from the time shows the well-known monuments of the city: the flagpole, the monument to the heroes of World War I, as well as the Reformed school and the Futura grain warehouse. The names of some streets also changed, so the main square was named after Miklós Horthy.
