János Nagy (Mocsa, January 14, 1806 – Nagysalló, May 1, 1880) was the son of János Nagy and Éva Sékura. He completed his studies in Pápa, where he was a public school teacher and a college senior. It was then that he, together with Tarczy, laid the foundation of the self-education circle with his enthusiastic speech to the student youth.
